Finding an Orthodox Church Near You

Unfortunately, there is no convenient listing of all the Orthodox Churches in the United States. However, most will be listed on one of the following references. All of these churches are in full communion with each other.

Churches of the Antiochian Archdiocese

    Churches of the Carpatho-Russian Diocese

Churches of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese

Churches of the Orthodox Church in America

    Churches of the Serbian Patriarchate

Churches of the Ukranian Orthodox Church of the USA

     Churches of the Russian Patriarchate

In addition, while the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (also known as ROCOR) is not in communion with the churches listed above, it is generally considered to also be Orthodox.

All of the above references list parishes by the official community they are in, and unless you are very familiar with the local geography and willing to read through an entire state's listing, not very helpful in finding nearby parishes.

One of the easier ways to do this is to enter the YAHOO Yellow Pages, select the community you are interested in, and then search for orthodox. You will get a listing of most of the Orthodox parishes in the vicinity, arranged in order of distance from the community center, with addresses and telephone numbers. You can then check the directories above to find out which jurisdiction a parish is with, times of services, etc.
